It all started when….

I have always been interested in health and nutrition and after struggling through different majors, I finally listened to my heart and pursued nutrition. Fast forward to today, I’ve graduated from Loma Linda University with my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Nutrition and Dietetics and I couldn’t be happier.

Along with my private practice, I worked as a renal dietitian in dialysis and kidney transplant. After switching industries, I moved into a residential setting working with adolescents struggling with mental health issues, eating disorders and substance abuse at Discovery Mood and Anxiety Program (DMAP). During my time at DMAP, I enhanced my counseling skills using their “All Foods Fit Philosophy” along with a non-diet, weight neutral approach which has been the foundation for my private practice. I still work as a consultant dietitian for local skilled nursing facilities and taught the CDC Diabetes Prevention Program for a period of time in Monrovia.

In my free time, my husband and I have taken up backpacking. We love hiking with our Rhodesian Ridgeback, Maverick, trying new food, watching movies, and relaxing at home. I also have Chihuahua named Lola who has been with me through it all.

There’s always been a place in my heart for people who struggle with body image, disordered eating, and digestive problems as those are all things I’ve dealt with personally - and probably the catalyst to becoming a dietitian. I know the struggle and it means a lot to me to be able to share my experience and let people know they’re not alone.
