A little about me: I work with individuals who are struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating, general nutrition, body image issues, and developing a healthy relationship with exercise from a weight inclusive not diet approach. I currently work with ages 13+ and my practice is inclusive of all genders, body sizes, and races.

I believe in an all foods fit philosophy by helping my clients find balanced meals that include fun foods and nourishing foods. I work with clients to see the big picture of health and take the focus off food and exercise as the end all be all of health. I work with clients to get back in touch with their hunger cues, honor cravings and taste preferences, work towards body tolerance, and learn what behavior changes work best for their lives.

When it comes to weight loss, I respect your decision to want to lose weight but I ask that we not make that the focus our work together. Evidence supports that although weight loss can be achieved, it’s not sustainable. Research also shows that the pursuit of weight loss can often times result in more weight gain down the road and contributes to chronic diseases known to be a result of being overweight or “obese.” If weight loss is what you’re looking for, I ask you to think about your why behind the weight loss. What do you think it will bring you? If you had those thing without weight loss would you still feel the need to lose weight? Together, we can work on those deeper whys. If this still doesn’t resonate with you, that’s perfectly fine too!

“I met Liz at a skilled nursing facility after I broke my leg. Liz is a very special person who educated me on the importance of nutrition. She explained the benefits of making healthier food choices when I got home from the facility. She actually took extra time to show me where to find Crock-Pot recipes and make realistic changes to my lifestyle. I wish that I met Liz sooner when I was still a sheriff's deputy. I would have been in better shape and able to move faster when the situation arose. Thank you for your dedication to make people enjoy health and have a fuller life.”

“I was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer last year. I had a very difficult time finding a nutritionist that not only understood healthy eating on "normal times" vs how and what to eat during chemotherapy. This additional insight is what I genuinely feel separated Liz from everyone else. Additionally, PERSONALITY matters!!! I find Liz to be a very likable, kind, and sincere human being. The combination of knowledge and relational abilities is a rare thing these days. I recommend Liz whole heartedly to EVERYONE out there looking for an amazing nutritionist! ( :”

“I found out 2 years ago that I had cholesterol issues due to eating and family genetics. I was only 30. I felt really discouraged and unsure of what I could do to correct it without having to go on medication. I started discussing my situation with Liz and it made a world of difference! We started going over foods I should eat more of f and foods I should eat less of to help me lower my cholesterol. While on my journey, Liz never one time pressured me to give anything up, nor did she give me a hard time when I had a cheat meal. Liz did nothing but encourage me as I strived to make life changes with my eating habits. Not only have I managed to significantly lower my cholesterol but I started making much better choices that have led to an appropriate amount of weight loss. Couldn't have done it without her! Thank you, Liz!”

“If you are looking for someone who is knowledgeable, patient, focused and an overall kind hearted person look no further.

Through my adult life I had trouble keeping a stable weight but found it particularly difficult after ACL/meniscus surgery. I was unable to exercise with the same intensity and overtime became depressed. Due to long hours of sitting at work, I eventually began to gain weight, fearing that I may become diabetic I researched and experimented with every diet that I could find with minimal results.

Liz taught me how to eat a balanced diet. She took the time to listen to me, validated my feelings and made me feel comfortable. Originally I came for weight loss advice but over time I realized that the number on the scale is a small fraction of what health is and what the relationship between eating and body image is. After two days of following Liz's advice I felt my mood improve and within a week I could feel an overall improvement in my quality of life. I would say my goals shifted from being short-sighted to becoming more life-long and more meaningful. For example, originally I simply wanted to lose weight to avoid diabetes but later discovered that overall quality of life came through a baseline of sustainable, balanced meals. My goal now is to continue following this pattern for the rest of my life. I lost about ten pounds but in a month but it seems so trivial compared to the drastic improvements I noticed outside the scale. As someone battling depression, this was the first step toward feeling like a 'normal' person. I cannot emphasize enough how much better I felt after working with Liz. I am no longer consumed with writing down calories or judging myself for eating something I like.”
